SScience should be the most fascinating of subjects at school. Humans are an advanced form of ape and, as a consequence, biology is the ultimate explanation for everything we do. Why are the most racially diverse cities in the United States are also the most racially segregated? [Surely, Liberals Should Support White Nationalism, by Noah Carl, Aporia Magazine, November 19, 2023]. Why are scientific geniuses and other major innovators overwhelmingly men, as I explored in my book The Genius Famine? Why, when you were at school, did you notice that boys preferred science and rough games based around competition?

In my new book The Naked Classroom: The Evolutionary Psychology of Your Time at School, I show that science answers the kinds of questions you didn’t dare ask at school. Why are the black kids so talented at sprinting, but not so much when it comes to mathematics? Why do the “special” children look physically unusual? Why is the young woman teacher—who teaches a humanities subject such as history—having sex with that “jock” rather than the boys who enjoy her subject? Detroit News, Inc., in which  the courts decided that a white victim of libel had no rights a black journalist or American judges need respect.

Our enemies will object that American Free Press is too Dissident, because it covers international politics, currently involving criticism of Israel. Well, I’m equally willing to do similar Q&A sessions with the New York Times, Washington Post, or the Wall Street Journal. But, as discussed below, they’re not showing up to do so.

James Edwards writes: What follows is an interview conducted by AFP's James Edwards with Peter Brimelow founder of the immigration watchdog group VDARE and author of the bestselling book Alien Nation: Common Sense About America’s Immigration Disaster 

JAMES EDWARDS: As recently as the early 2000s, you held coveted positions as the editor of both Forbes and National Review, while also penning regular columns for Dow Jones’ MarketWatch, as well as other publications. Some would say that such a man had “arrived” in his respective field. Were you content?

PETER BRIMELOW: I would always have preferred political journalism, but I started my career in 1973, at the height of the Cold War, and I knew in that earlier era of proto-political correctness that the Left was too dominant for conservatives to survive in the Main Stream Media (MSM). (That’s also why my twin brother and I decided not to be academics.)

However, they knew they had to have some financial coverage, so I was able to survive in the briar patch [PB: this is a reference to Bre’r Rabbit And The Tar Baby] of financial journalism.

After 1986, at Forbes Magazine, at the behest of its great editor James W. Michaels, I began to do major public policy pieces, including a 1993 estimate of the cost of Affirmative Action quotas, which academic economists were then ducking. I am amazed to see that Richard Hanania cites it in his recent book attacking civil rights law, The Origins Of Woke. Apparently, there’s no more recent estimate. So, I guess they’re still ducking!

EDWARDS: Your seminal work, Alien Nation: Common Sense About America’s Immigration Disaster, was published in 1995 and became a best-selling book while you were still employed by both Forbes and National Review. What was the reaction at the office(s) to the intense press coverage you received?

BRIMELOW: The Forbes family was intensely embarrassed, and the book was never mentioned in the magazine. Steve Forbes was and apparently still is a dogmatic Wall Street Journal editorial pager on immigration (which is why he didn’t become president).

Senate Democrats walked out of negotiations on border security this week. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said Republican demands for border security were too much for Democrats to stomach. In retaliation, Republicans blocked passage of a Senate bill to fund Ukraine and Israel. The root of the impasse: the Great Replacement invasion by illegal aliens at the southwest border. Republican demands would do much to secure the border. But Democrats whine that the current immigration negotiations force them to concede to GOP demands with nothing in return. “It became pretty apparent by the end of last week that we were the only ones compromising. There’s still an opportunity to come back to the table,” said Connecticut’s Chris Murphy, the lead Democrat negotiator [The GOP demands that caused Democrats to walk out of border talks, by Joseph Zeballos-Roig, Semafor, December 4, 2023].

Yet Republican demands are not that extreme. Their opening pitch demanded a border wall, the reinstatement of Remain in Mexico, reforming abused asylum policies that allow illegal aliens to stay here and avoid deportation, and curbs on the Biden Regime’s power to grant parole. Though notorious cuck Thom Tillis led the Republican side, the party stuck to its demands. LEGAL IMMIGRATION FINALLY SURFACED IN THE FOURTH GOP DEBATE—at 6:22 when Governor Ron DeSantis attacked  it (admittedly in the context of importing antisemitism, but whatever) and, perhaps more important,  at 8:20 when Vivek Ramaswamy said:

…the Great Replacement Theory is not some grand rightwing conspiracy theory, but a basic statement of the Democratic Party’s platform.

Of course this is true, but who else has the courage to say it?

One hundred years ago, Lord Birkenhead, the then Lord High Chancellor of Great Britain and a piratical upwardly mobile product of the same socially marginal English school I attended some 75 years later, caused a great scandal by remarking in a Rectorial Address to the University of Glasgow that the world continued to offer glittering prizes to those with ”stout hearts and sharp swords.”

By sheer imagination and courage, Vivek Ramaswamy is illustrating this principle. As of course does former Trump aide Stephen Miller [Tweet him], whom I continue to regard as America’s first Jewish president, cf. Britain’s Benjamin Disraeli.

Overall, my take as a thirty-year veteran of the Immigration Wars: As I said after the second GOP debate, the GOP has come a long way on immigration.

Black Harvard President Claudine Gay was reportedly the Republicans’ top target in Tuesday’s House hearing on campus antisemitism [5 takeaways from college antisemitism hearing, by  Bianca Quilantan, Politico, December 5, 2023]. This criticism must have been a rude shock to Gay because she has previously soared comfortably upward on one of the most powerful thermals in modern U.S. life: black privilege in academe. Ever since the Floyd Hoax in 2020, traditionally white colleges and universities have been on a hiring binge of blacks for president or chancellor. Other beneficiaries: Daryll Pines (University of Maryland), Gregory Washington, right (George Mason), Vincent Rougeau (Holy Cross), Michael Drake (University of California), Dwight McBride (The New School), and William Tate IV (Louisiana State University). Some may be qualified, but we all know that’s not why they were hired. They were hired because they advanced the reigning anti-white regime called “diversity,” “inclusion,” and “equity,” properly known as DIE.

The numbers are revealing. Of the 336 people hired to head colleges and universities from June 1 through November 30, 2021, 25.3 percent were black [Diversity on the Rise Among College Presidents, by Doug Lederman, Inside Higher Ed, February 13, 2022]. That’s twice the black share of the U.S. population. Non-Hispanic whites accounted for 64.6 percent of the new hires, down from 78 percent during the previous 18 months. That some were headed for “Historically Black Colleges and Universities” only slightly alters the fact of black overrepresentation [What is an HBCU? Sites.Ed.gov]. What happened to Historically White Schools?

This black binge in college hiring is all the more striking because, across the entire college spectrum, black graduation rates lag well behind those of whites. A study in 2019 showed that 64 percent of whites and 74 percent of Asians who entered a four-year college in 2010 complete a degree at the same institution (i.e., did not drop out or transfer) within six years. By contrast, only 40 percent of blacks did so [Status and Trends in the Education of Racial and Ethnic Groups, National Center for Education Statistics].

Blackness advocates claim that blacks enrolled at predominantly white campuses would improve their grades if they had greater “access” to black mentors. Consumed by guilt, white officials have responded by insisting on diversifying faculty and administration. Over time, campuses have created ever-growing bureaucracies staffed by apparatchiks fanatically dedicated to reducing the presence of whites, expanding the presence of nonwhites, and disciplining those who object.
