Re: Peter Brimelow's article “This Isn’t A Free Country”: The Heritage Foundation And The Fate Of Jason Richwine

From: Cornelius J. Troost [Email him]

I'd like to share this letter with VDARE.com readers. A copy has been sent to Senator DeMint [Contact him]at the Heritage Foundation, 214 Massachusetts Ave NE, Washington DC 20002-4999

Cornelius J. Troost author of Apes Or Angels?:Darwin, Dover, Human Nature, and Race, was a professor of science education at UCLA and chair of graduate studies at Brock University in Ontario, Canada.

Dear Senator DeMint:

Just as you took over the presidency of The Heritage Foundation, the excellent and significant Heritage Report by Robert Rector and Jason Richwine came out. It is critically important as a tool in the fight to defend our nation from a titanic flood of illegal immigrants. It tells the truth about the current Amnesty Bill that will change our nation in ways we will greatly regret later on. This was a monumental report to appear just in time. Alas, a few days later we learn that Richwine has “resigned," an action that is unimaginable.

Surely you had to know this despicable treatment of a very reputable scholar can only be seen as another tyrannical act by PC thought police of a conservative stripe replacing the usual liberal variety.

Apparently, sound empirical studies of delicate topics like race and IQ upset you as much as your liberal counterparts. At least you have that much in common!

You responded quickly and mindlessly by undermining Richwine and casting doubt on your own Report. What happened to the freedom of expression principle Heritage often espouses as fundamental to American life? The wolves of tyrannical liberalism are celebrating this self-inflicted wound for all conservatives. For Heritage to renounce Richwine abruptly at minimum advertises an embarrassing ignorance of human biodiversity. A friend of mine, the late James F. Crow, a very great expert on human genetics at Wisconsin, wrote a paper on diversity that explains human differences in terms even you would understand. In your position of great responsibility in the Conservative movement, your action against this innocent scholar is misguided and shameful. Liberal harpies like Rachel Maddow will applaud you but I see only a colossal blunder in the service of appeasement.

However you may twist this absolute debacle, it is an act of supreme cowardice and concession to PC zombielike compliance.

The Left wants the arena of public discourse to submit blindly to the myth of complete equality while only science attempts to shine light on the actual truth. Truth is of little interest in the rush to rebuild America in the image so incredibly diverse as to be fractured beyond repair. You look rather ugly as a conservative member of America’s new witch-hunting elite headed by a socialist President. Heritage, just as it published this earthshaking treatise against the wrong kind of diversity, capitulated in a way that makes them indistinguishable from the Left’s manic crusades for totalitarian control via PC compliance. Your future requests for funds will go unheeded.
