Let me see if I can convey, in two words, the difference between the two neighborhoods that the New York Times is hinting at. Miss Pressly lived in a white neighborhood. Mr. Vance lives in a black neighborhood. But neither the word black, nor the word white, nor any synonyms thereof appears in the New York Times article.
