We have recently learned that Professor Elizabeth Warren has been describing herself as both a “Native American” and “minority” for several years. She claims that she was unaware that such descriptions appeared in her faculty biographies at Harvard Law School, but that is a difficult sell. According to The Boston Globe, Warren was also listed as a minority professor when she previously taught at the University of Texas and the University of Pennsylvania. [Directories Identified Warren as Minority, By Stephanie Ebbert, The Boston Globe, April 30, 2012]

Warren apparently has some small amount of Indian blood in her, but she has probably never stepped foot on an actual reservation.

Similarly, I have been told that my paternal great-grandmother was a Cree Indian, a subject that only comes up at the occasional family function. But I remember learning about her when I was a kid and thinking it was very cool because it allowed me to usurp the Indian role during games of Cowboys & Indians.

I mean, any fool can shoot a musket, but how cool is it to be able to throw a tomahawk?

With all due respect to David Yeagley, perhaps now I can be listed as VDARE.com’s Native American contributor?
