We came close—but we didn’t make it. This is the first time since I started fundraising for VDARE Foundation in 2013 that we did not meet our year-end goal. Of course, our goals are always ambitious. This year, we hoped to raise $200,000 toward our non-profit journalism. We fell short by a modest 10%. This is of course a disappointment, but on the other hand, we are so grateful. Thank you!

This shortfall didn’t come out of nowhere. Look around: there is real economic hardship in our country. I started making my fundraising calls in the fall to set up matching gifts and large pledges. More than one long-term reliable donor told me it wasn’t possible this year. The stock market is a nightmare. Inflation is real. Business is suffering: Amazon is terminated 18,000 people yesterday and Bed, Bath & Beyond is threatening bankruptcy.

And it’s not just economic hardship. Biden’s border treason is incredibly disheartening to many patriots—especially because our so-called political leaders, despite our express instructions, are so maddeningly slow to respond.

Even my own attention to fundraising flagged this fall as the compliance demands put upon VDARE Foundation by  New York Attorney General Letitia James’ unconstitutional lawfare became overwhelming to our small organization, as the Southern Poverty Law Center vigilante group hunted me for their hit-and-run journalism in my small-town and as the Washington Post, in unethical collusion with the SPLC, geared up for a hit piece by interviewing my unsuspecting non-political friends.

But VDARE.com will continue our mission. We will stand to defend the Historic American Nation for as long as the Historic American Nation exists—even if that means outlasting the country as we currently know it. We do so with the help of our brave and generous readers, and I thank each and every one of you for your donations.
