Ohio was the place where a 10-year old girl allegedly couldn’t get an abortion, and had to be taken to Indiana. That’s probably why Democrat Tim Ryan, debating J. D. Vance, raised it.
J. D. Vance said he was in favor of 10-year-old victims of child molesting being able to get abortions, but Tim Ryan’s border policies were what got the girl raped in the first place:

The GOP candidate continued, ”Look, I’ve got a 9-year-old baby girl at home. I cannot imagine what that’s like for the girl, for her family. God forbid something like that would happen. I’ve said repeatedly on the record that I think that that girl should be able to get an abortion if she and her family so choose to do so.”
He then put the blame for that case on Ryan, saying, ”But let’s talk about that case because why was a 10-year-old girl raped in our community, raped in our state, in the first place? The thing the media and Congressman Ryan—they talk about this all [the] time—the thing they never mention is that poor girl was raped by an illegal alien.”
Vance said to Ryan, ”You voted so many times against border wall funding, so many times for amnesty, Tim. If you had done your job, she would have never been raped in the first place.”

The thing is, media suppression and ”not reporting race” actually works, and it works so well that Democrat Tim Ryan, one of its beneficiaries, may never have heard that the rapist was an illegal alien.
I wrote about it, Ann Coulter wrote about it, it was probably on RedState and Fox News, but if you Google 10-year old pregnant in ohio, the results on the first page look like this.
If you search the New York Times, the ”Paper Of Record,” you get this:
And if you read all the way down to the FIFTEENTH paragraph (I counted) you finally get a hint of what this story is about:
This is deliberate, openly agreed to (it’s in the AP Style Book) policy to keep the public from knowing that Trump’s offhand remark, based on his reading of Ann Coulter’s ADIOS AMERICA, ”And they’re rapists” was perfectly true.
It seems to have succeeded in fooling Tim Ryan. For that matter, I don’t know if even J. D. Vance knows that if you vote for mass immigration (legal or illegal) from south of the border, you’re voting to bring in the kind of people who do this sort of thing.
