We’re not done covering Juneteenth quite yet.
When a gunman in D.C. shot four people, killing a 15-year-old boy and injuring a police officer, the night was still young on our nation’s newest federal holiday.
Unfortunately later that same night, at a Juneteenth celebration in New York City, another mass shooting was brewing.
After midnight on Monday morning, 9 Blacks were shot in Harlem, leaving one dead.
It should be noted that the population of New York City is roughly 24.3% Black, 29.1% Hispanic, 14.1% Asian, and 32.1% White.
However, in arrests of homicide suspects, 63.9% are Black, 28.5% are Hispanic, while White and Asian suspects account for just 7% of homicides combined.
But it wasn’t all gunfire on Juneteenth. Two Democratic Mayors found themselves trading blows with the general public during last weekend’s exuberance.
In Louisville, Kentucky, Democrat mayor Greg Fischer was knocked to the ground after being sucker punched by an unidentified Black male on Saturday.
And in New Orleans, Mayor LaToya Cantrell was filmed after allegedly assaulting a woman in the bathroom at a concert.
Steve Sailer writes for VDARE.com:
It’s hard to tell from this video who started what (New Orleans mayor LaToya Cantrell’s staff is claiming Her Honor stepped in to break up a tense situation), but Democratic mayors should spend a few months in the ring each spring sparring in preparation for Juneteenth Weekend.
