Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer on Friday cautioned detectives investigating the murder of a Barnard College student to tread lightly to avoid repeating mistakes that led to the Central Park Five scandal.

Brewer issued her warning hours after the NYPD announced that a 13-year-old boy had been arrested in connection with the murder of Barnard freshman Tessa Majors, who was stabbed to death Wednesday evening while jogging near the campus down the steps of Morningside Park. A second suspect was later arrested.

Brewer, a Columbia University graduate who took classes at Barnard and taught there years later, said she wants to be sure there are no false arrests.

In New York City, the Post is the right-wing tabloid and the Daily News is the left-wing tabloid. Not surprisingly, the Post is more interesting than the Daily News.

Here’s an interesting question: a few months ago, the Respectable Media was obsessed with how the movie Joker would surely inspire right-wing white incels to commit mass murder. Since then, Joker has earned $1.057 billion at the global box office, without inspiring any obvious murders.

What if the current HBO TV show Watchmen, which is all about how racist, hateful, and deserving of murder are white people, inspired the Morningside Park murder?
