SOUTH AFRICA FARM ATTACKS IN OCTOBER: 14-Year-Old White Boy Killed Defending His Mother And Brother, Two Other Murders

According to southafricatoday.net, there were 18 farm attacks including two murders in South Africa during the month of October, 2023.

Farm attacks were reported in the following provinces:

  • 6 in Limpopo province
  • 4 in Gauteng province
  • 2 in Mpumalanga province
  • 1 in Northern Cape province
  • 1 in Eastern Cape province
  • 3 in KwaZulu-Natal province
  • 1 in North West province

  • A farmhouse owner was bound and robbed in his home in Mokopane in the Persy Fyfe area of South Africa.

The two intruders were armed; one with a handgun and the other with a knife.

The victim was assaulted after he told the intruders he had no cash.

After ransacking the house, they made off with an air rifle, radio, food, and household items.

Tracks led to a nearby settlement, but no arrests were made.

  • An elderly female farm owner was duped by a man asking for water in Marydale.

The 18-year-old intruder overpowered his 66-year-old victim. She was assaulted and stabbed in the face and head. The attacker fled with cellphones, vehicle keys, and other items.

Police were able to track the suspect to a nearby farm, using a K-9 unit and support for neighboring farmers.

The suspect was arrested, charged, and is set to appear in court.

  • A 30-year-old victim was threatened with a knife and screwdriver In Musina.

Reports say the intruders found their victim sleeping when he was threatened.

The suspects stole items worth over a 100, 000 Rand ($5,454.30 USD).

Police were mobilized to engage in a manhunt.

At one incident, armed intruders forced two employees to give them access to the owner's house while he was not home. The suspects used a grinder to gain access to a safe. They made off with two pellet guns, one shotgun, mattresses, clothes, bag, blankets, cellphones, and other items.

Having loaded the owner's truck and trailer with the stolen goods, the farmer returned home prompting the suspects to flee on foot.

  • 14-year-old Jayden Louw was killed defending his mother and younger brother from home invaders in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal.

When five attackers arrived in a BMW X5 and smashed their way into the house through the front door, Louw took action.

Initially, Louw opened the door when the suspect knocked, feigning to be looking for another residence. When firearms were spotted, the teen tried to close the door. He was overpowered as the suspects burst into the house. Two shots rang out; one struck the teen in the chest. His mother managed to convince the suspects to allow her to drive her son to a hospital. Meanwhile, the gang of intruders stole cellphones and laptops.

They fled on foot to vehicles hidden at a nearby farm.

Reports say the victim died at a hospital moments after his dad arrived for a final farewell.

  • Two farm invaders were fatally shot by a farmer in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. A third was wounded.

The incident occurred on October 18, 2023, according thegatewaypundit.com.

  • Lesley Stark died while seeking to help a neighbor following a farm attack in the Umkomaas area of KwaZulu-Natal province.

Stark was stabbed and left for dead, but he managed to run to a neighbor's house.

Ironically, Stark was attacked while attempting to help another neighbor who was being attacked.

Reports say Stark, who lives alone, rushed to help a nearby female farmer where intruders allegedly hit her on the head with the butt of a firearm. They stole cash, a computer, and cellphones.

Stark was encountered in the woman's front yard where he was assulted and stabbed. He then rushed to another neighbor for help, but died enroute to a hospital.

  • "An 81-year-old was brutally murdered, and his 81-year-old wife was badly injured during a home invasion in Belfast," according to iol.co.za.

Dead is 81-year-old  Izak Johannes Berrange whose body was found lying on a chair and covered with blood.

Maria Elizabeth Berrange was taken to hospital, where “she is fighting for her life”, the report said.

The couple were found by their grandson Johannes du Plessis.

This incident was at a non-farm residence.
