I was listening to Megyn Kelly’s program from a couple days ago. She had on Victor Davis Hanson, who is one of my favorite commentators, even if I disagree with him on some issues like the role of race.  

Around minute 1:13:00 they begin talking about immigration.

Megyn was upset about the “Constitutional Crisis” looming if Texas defies the Supreme Court and goes ahead with preventing the Feds from acting to tear down the razor wire Texas authorities have put up. VDH agrees with her, but then goes on to point out that the Left has been defying Supreme Court rulings and federal law for years.

His first example was that the Supreme Court struck down affirmative action, but the universities are finding workarounds to keep doing affirmative action, even if they have to call it something else. VDH believes that even if the universities are sued, they will keep doing it anyway. His second was about all the sanctuary cities that ignore federal law and refuse to turn over criminal aliens to ICE.

VDH then imagines the big freakout in the media that would occur if a Red state like Montana were to ignore federal regulations about waiting periods for handguns and background checks.

I agree with VDH, but I believe he left out a big one. The Biden Administration appears to be defying a Supreme Court ruling on loans and suffering no repercussions [Biden blows off SCOTUS ruling AGAIN, cancels 74,000 student loans with NO consequences, BizPacReview, January 19, 2024].  

Why is the Left allowed to defy federal law and the Supreme Court, but never the Right? Yes, this is a Constitutional crisis, but it’s been one in the works for some time.
