JASON KESSLER: Note Sheer Anti-White Sadism Of Reporting On Lee Statue Vandalism—Because It’s You Next

As the organizer and permit holder of the legal 2017 Charlottesville VA Unite The Right Rally in defense of the historic Robert E. Lee statue, which was brutally suppressed by elected, uniformed, civilian and paramilitary Democrats/communists, I’d like to make a further comment on Gregory Hood’s powerful After The Lee Statue: There Must Be A Cost For Anti-White Hate: ICYMI, there was something ominously sadistic about the recent destruction of the Lee statue as celebrated by Washington Post in series of graphic videos and pictures framed like a pornographic snuff film for anti-whites [Charlottesville’s Lee statue meets its end, in a 2,250-degree furnace, by Teo Armus and Hadley Green, October 26, 2023].

From the beginning headline, the WaPo article was clearly intended to rub salt in the wounds of our sharply divided country and culture by celebrating this vandalism as a sadistic and ritualistic murder—as if done to the conservative white men that the Woke Left so loathes, rather than a monument of bronze.

As Elon Musk succinctly put it after viewing the video, “They absolutely want your extinction.”

WaPo readers were subjected to a video loop created by Washington Post breaking news video editor Hadley Green [Tweet her/Email her] depicting the head of Robert E. Lee, laying prostrate and helpless, as a goon from the foundry cuts through the metal, lacerating his visage like one of the face masks collected by serial killer “Buffalo Bill” in The Silence of the Lambs.

Armus and Green’s piece revels in horror novel prose, describing the act as a “celebration” of a “grim act.”

Counter Currents columnist and author Jim Goad offered this vividly brutal description of the video’s climax: Lee’s visage

…super-heated to the point where it glowed, offering the stark and ghastly image of a military leader—who by multiple accounts was a gracious and noble man—suffering amid hellfire for all eternity.

The Ritualized Defacement of Robert E. Lee, October 30, 2023

Unlike most videos placed onto news sites in 2023, there are no inconvenient ads placed either before or after the Washington Post’s video that might delay anyone from being immediately confronted with the violent act.

Nor does the video player shuffle to other content, as most do these days, so any readers who revere Lee’s memory (“one of the noblest Americans who ever lived, and one of the greatest captains known to the annals of war”—Winston. S. Churchill) will experience the maximum trauma from the deliberately gratuitous sadism of Green’s video.

Since race plays such a large part in the controversy over the Robert E. Lee statue and the Unite the Right rally, it is worth asking Green’s racial background. The surname Green has Saxon, Old English origins but, in modern times, often denotes Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry. Many Ashkenazi Jews have anglicized names. In the case of Green as a Jewish surname it comes from “grin“ or “Gryn,“ the Yiddish words for “green.” I asked her about this directly, but she declined to comment.

I’ve also asked the black-presenting Jalane Schmidt [Tweet her], director of something called the Memory Project at University of Virginia’s Karsh Institute of Democracy, whose Afrocentric communist nonprofit Swords into Plowshares was given the statue and was quoted gloating over its destruction, if she is part-Jewish, as her name might suggest.

No answer either.

It is also worth noting that Lee’s method of “execution” was being burned in an oven, perhaps a deliberate reference to the Holocaust, since in my experience Jewish activists have been exceptionally passionate about inflicting retribution towards anything associated with the Unite the Right rally.

The Washington Post team took the extremely unusual and arguably unprofessional step of “agree(ing) not to name” the foundry where the destruction of the Lee statue took place “because of participants’ fears of violence.”

But behind that protective shield of anonymity the foundry workers were trash-talking tough guys. “It’s a better sculpture now than it’s ever been,” one of them says according to Green and her co-author Teo Armus.

The owner of the foundry, whom the WaPo writers described as a black man, reportedly said: “When you’re approached with such an honor, especially to destroy hate, you have to do it.”

Schmidt’s Swords into Plowshares group was apparently in attendance: hooting, hollering and getting drunk on champagne and bourbon like some bloodthirsty medieval crowd at a public execution.

That’s exactly what this was to them.

The execution of Hugh Despenser the Younger, as depicted in the Froissart of Louis of Gruuthuse

The morbid, implicitly homicidal, language surrounding Regime Media depictions of this vandalism is not limited to the Washington Post.

Significantly. NPR anthropomorphizes the statue describing the dismemberment of its face into a “death mask” which “falls to the floor with a loud clank.” Then, reveling in the grisly melting of the statue into molded metal ingots, UVA’s Schmidt reportedly mocks that it’s like knocking “meatloaf” out of a pan—yet another telling reference to flesh [Confederate monument melted down to create new, more inclusive public art, by Debbie Elliott, NPR, October 26, 2023].

Erin Thompson, writing in the New York Times, gleefully described how the “plasma torch sliced into the face of Robert E Lee.” The gratuitous title of her piece taunts that the statue “surrenders to the furnace.” Thompson describes how after dismembering and incinerating the statue, “Drops of molten red metal cascaded to the ground,” vividly depicting something akin to the red blood of a murder victim pouring from his body [The Most Controversial Statue in America Surrenders to the Furnace, by Erin Thompson, New York Times, October 27, 2023].

And here’s the reaction of left-wing Journofa activist Jeff Sharlet, who has written several books denouncing Christians in politics for being … Christians in politics:

The clear intention of all of this masturbatory celebration: to demoralize the contingent of White America that has not forgotten or disinherited the heroes of Western Civilization.

Don’t let them.

Lee himself was a Christian man, as many Americans before and after him have been. Jesus Christ’s public execution by jeering and mocking Romans is a central event of both the Christian faith and Western Civilization.

In Christianity, though Christ died, he arose again, and his sacrifice became the most powerful symbol of martyrdom the world has ever known.

The Right has never been as good as the Left at honoring its martyrs. Conservatism Inc.’s recoil from the Charlottesville demonstration and credulous acceptance of the Regime Media’s Narrative is proof enough of that.

But we need our sacrificial heroes now more than ever. A scan of the multitudes of Twitter and social media users now using the Robert E. Lee “death mask” as their avatar is only one demonstration of this need.

Be angry. Any thinking, feeling American patriot must be.

But my conclusion: focus your anger into resistance. Use Lee’s “sacrifice” as a powerful totem.

Because what they did to a man of bronze, they absolutely intend one day to repeat with Americans of flesh and bone.
