His name is Thomas Arnold, a white man who spent his entire life volunteering to make Atlanta a better place to live. He’s now dead, murdered by three black males.
28-year-old Brandon Williams is now in custody, charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, and illegal firearm possesion in the shooting death of Arnold.
Thomas Arnold was beloved by his community, a volunteer of more than 10 years with local non-profit Trees Atlanta.
Reports say that Arnold was walking home from dinner in a gentrifying part of the city when the killing took place.
Surveillance video shows Brandon Williams and two other men in the area of the crime scene, breaking into a black BMW.
